No longer do some of us build their own photo labs in their bathtubs, to develop film and print pictures. No longer do many of us go to photo stores (or drug stores, or even grocery stores, on occasion) to have them develop our films and print the pictures where, more often than not, we have no say in the matter: they'll print our pictures off the entire roll, even shots we never wanted and took by mistake. Now, all we do is aim, click, keep only pictures we like, transfer to computer, select pictures we really want, and edit. We can crop them, we can trim them, we can enhance their color rendition, we can do a lot of things. There are quite a few specialized photo-editing suites. You can use many of them to handle any other art, too. And most digital camera manufacturers supply their product with software that not only seamlessly transfers pictures from your camera to your hard drive: many of them include photo-editing suites, as well. You can perform enormous tricks with your pictures using those suites - if you know what you're doing, that is.
