Evidence Eliminator v5.0 is a Windows program that scrubs your computer clean. For example, you went shopping on line for a gift for that special someone in your life and you want to ensure they do not know that you visited that web site. Or suppose, just suppose you click on a web page link, and suddenly you are redirected to a questionable web page with naughty pictures.
You could clear your Internet browser history and cache, but this is not a fool-proof method to cover your tracks completely. The other extreme would be to just reinstall your operating system to cover your tracks. That would be overkill. What if there was a way to clean your system of those tracks in about 45 minutes? Evidence Eliminator is just such an application that can do just that for you.
A well-known application that has been around for several years with a good track record.
The program is full of options, settings, and add-ons. The quick clean option is very fast and efficient. Running the application using the safe reboot mode takes about 45 minutes to complete. This application also cleans and clears the tracks and history of some files that might be otherwise locked by the operating system. When in use, the application uses only a small amount of system RAM and CPU cycles, so it will not have an impact on your system performance or resources. A stealth mode option is available, too.
You have to buy it first if you want to try it. It would be nice to have a trial version of some sort. Chock-full of features and options. This might make it confusing to a first-time user (read the help files that come with the application first). Price point is a bit high. Does not offer a Windows Vista version at the time of this writing. May end up clearing files you did not intend it to. The seven-wipe pass takes a few hours to complete, even on a 15 Gb hard disk drive. It corrupted my Firefox browser bookmark bar file, so I had to reinstall Firefox to fix that issue.

Great application that takes the guess-work out of wiping your computer history files. It may be too efficient and clear the history on some files you did not intend, however.
Price: US$74.95 via Internet download.
