Your
children probably know more about your computer than you
do.
The problem is computers are designed for grownups' hands
and fingers.
So it's logical that kid-friendly peripherals should come
along.
The KidzMouse is a computer mouse that fits a child's smaller
hand. It has two buttons, as normal mice do, but they are
specially designed so that a click does not have to be precise.
A squeeze of the mouse's head will trigger a click. For
a young child developing motor skills this is quite a clever
innovation.
The half-size mice come in three brightly coloured versions
-- MollyMouse, BenjieBee and CoolBug. They connect to a
computer using either a serial connector found on all Windows
computers or a USB connector on computers with Windows 98
or later built since 1998. If you use the USB connector
on at least one mouse, a second mouse can be connected to
the computer at the same time. It also works on Macintosh
computers with USB connectors.
Much applause for Susan Giles, the smart, technically minded
grandmother that invented the KidzMouse.
