 If
you have a Palm-compatible handheld computer, getting a
print-out of data from it can be an onerous task.
You have to connect the Palm device to a PC, move the data
onto the hard drive and then print. Bachmann Software has
developed a system to get around the computer bottleneck.
The company’s InfraReady Adapter connects to the parallel
port on your printer. Then you install the company’s PrintBoy
Deluxe program on your Palm handheld computer.
Once installed the Palm device’s built-in infrared port
can be used to beam data across the air to the InfraReady
Adapter on your printer. Most brand-name printers will work
with this system, though there a few that won’t including
the Lexmark Z-series and a few of Canon’s BJC models.
