Full-featured
digital cameras are becoming affordable to pretty much anyone
who has few hundred dollars to indulge in instant electronic
photography.
The FujiFilm FinePix 2600z is case in point. This charming
gadget has everything you need to capture images that can
be printed on any color inkjet printer to produce stunning
pictures.
The 2600z is a two megapixel camera. That means it can produce
images that have a resolution of up to 1600 x 1200 dots
per inch. Images shot in this resolution will print out
nicely at 8.5 x 11 inches on paper.
The included 16 MB SmartMedia card stores as many as 20
high-resolution images or 122 low-resolution images.
It has a zoom feature, several flash modes and can record
a silent 20-second video clip. The camera kit comes with
a couple of rechargeable batteries and a battery recharger.
An optional power cable can also be purchased separately.
One odd wrinkle in the device is a built-in cover that slides
across the face of the camera to protect the lens. This
sticks a little and has to be pushed all the way open to
avoid a lens-cover warning.
All in all this is a nice, useable camera that casual photographers
will enjoy.
