The Braun Syncro System Smart Logic device can help. This gadget is foremost an electric razor, and has micro-cutters that move in four directions. It gives you a decent shave. However, its real attraction is the built-in cleaning system. The razor comes with an inverted jelly-mold holder with a slot in the top where the razor is placed head down. An arm snaps into place to hold it steady and then at the touch of a button the razor is cleaned with a solution slurped from a hidden reservoir. This goes on for 15 minutes and frightens the pets because it turns on and off several times before it’s done. It also recharges the razor once the cleaning is complete. The Smart Logic part of the name refers to the internal chip that optimizes the device’s battery “at its peak,” so goes the marketing blather. No argument there. When fully charged, the $200 razor can run cordless for 50 minutes without a recharge—though I got 80 minutes out of it. For short trips, the power cord can also be removed from the cleaning system and attached to the razor. Gillette, the company that made its fortune with the disposable safety razor, owns Braun. So it’s not surprising that the cleaning solution that makes this magic work comes in a disposable cartridge. That’ll set you back $10 for two replacements that each last about a month of cleanings. No nibblies in the sink after a cleaning. No harping from a significant
other. Plus it appeals to my techie toy fetish. I love this gadget. -Andy Walker, Cyberwalker Media Syndicate Search for more gadgets at: The
