Feature Frenzy - A few extras

Some other features worth noting are video movie-modes, and Single Lens Reflex action (SLR). These two features are mutually exclusive. An SLR camera cannot have a video mode.

Video
Many digital point and shoot cameras have the ability to capture short videos with or without sound. This is a really fun feature for capturing I-DOs at weddings and cake extinguishing at birthdays. But if you are looking to document a foreign vacation or collect the flight patterns of plastic bags, you may consider a full blown video camcorder instead. The length of the clips is often limited by the size of the memory card; and some cameras simply have a maximum clip length of a few seconds at a time.

SLR
Digital SLRs or digital Single Lens Reflex cameras are now becoming more affordable and are a great cross over from film or for individuals interested in photography as a hobby.

The control over the depth of field and light is remarkable. However, SLRs can be heavy and are much more expensive once you factor in specialty lenses and other accessories. The also cannot do video.
