Windows XP can be an operating system from heaven, but it takes a long time to boot up. Why? Because it tends to remember each and every application you have ever installed.

MSCONFIG Utility

Not only does it remember those programs, but it also adds them to its start-up, which means that whenever you are starting up, it loads these applications, also, and it even tends to look whether there are any updates available.

Can you avoid that?

Absolutely. In this episode, you will learn how to use Microsoft’s configuration application, a.k.a. msconfig, as well as performing one of the scariest operations in any Windows - editing registries. The application is called regedit and you have to be extremely careful when using it.

But, even, if you happen to make a mistake, in this episode you will also learn how to fix it.
