Follow these procedures:

  • From MS-DOS, type FORMAT A: and hit Enter.
  • From Windows 3.x, run File Manager and click on the Disk menu, and select Format Disk.
  • From Windows 95/98, double-click on My Computer then right-click on your floppy disk icon, and select Format.
